The Global Agnikarma Centre had organised the 4th National Seminar and Workshop on “AGNIKARMA – Ayurveda Pain Management” at the Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA), Ahmedabad on Sunday 28th January 2018.
The event was attended by approximately 500 participants from various Indian states including Gujarat, Kerala, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Delhi, etc.
During the morning session, Dr. Nikolaos Kostopoulos, Director of the Holistic Health Centre, Athens, Greece, detailed the basic scientific principles of Agnikarma (Thermal Cautery) as well as shared his clinical experiences of the treatment; with the fascinated audience intrigued with the results of the Agnikarma treatment. He expressed his love and respect to Ayurveda.
The Chief Guest Vaidya Dineshchandra Pandya (Director, Indian System of Medicine and Homeopathy, Gujarat) and Guest of Honour Rajvaidya Hirubhai Patel, appreciated the scientific application of the Agnikarma treatment by Global Agnikarma Centre and encouraged young Vaidyas to pursue an interest in evidence-based Ayurveda.
Dr. Camillus Power, Ex. Dean of Faculty of Pain Medicine, Dublin, Ireland, shared his expertise on the recent advances in the field of pain management and possible scientific mechanism of Agnikarma (Thermal Cautery). He appreciated the role of Agnikarma in the management of chronic pain.
Dr. Eleni Papageorgiou, the Director of the Headache Clinic at General Hospital, Athens, Greece, talked about the current landscape of migraine management and appreciated the role of Agnikarma in migraine management.
During the afternoon session, Vaidya Asvin Barot, the eminent Ayurveda Consultant from London, UK, encouraged and provoked young Vaidyas and students to learn as well as practice scientific and evidence-based Ayurveda and Agnikarma.
During the patients’ experience session, treated patients shared their experiences and comments on how the Agnikarma treatment helped them recover from painful conditions.
A live demonstration of Agnikarma procedure was also shown. The participants were greatly impressed and fascinated by the effectiveness of their Agnikarma treatment.
This was the 4th National Seminar by Global Agnikarma Centre on this subject of Agnikarma – Ayurveda Pain Management and it was a great success.
